Sorry I know this is the wrong place to post this but I tried on desktopreview and got nothing. Basically I'm currently looking for a new monitor. I would like a monitor to use for my PS3 as well as for a dual set up with my alienware laptop. I've been looking and looking but I am really stuck. Basically here's the options.

    Dell 2209WA - http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/DELL-2209WA-2...s_Monitors&hash=item27b44308ba#ht_5008wt_1139

    Viewsonic VP2365wb - http://www.kikatek.com/product_info.php?products_id=129245&source=froogle

    Asus VW246h - http://www.pixmania.co.uk/uk/uk/2313980/art/asus/vw246h-24-wide-tft-screen.html?srcid=867

In terms of size, the preferable would be 24", also 23" is good but I didn't really want to go to 22". However the 22" Dell 2209WA is only £175 and its an IPS monitor with tilt rotate and swivel functions. The Viewsonic is also an IPS with all the same ergonomic features and a higher resolution for only around £5 more making it sound like a no brainer but I would like some comments on comparing these two. Also the Asus VW246h is a very attractive option. Its 24" making it the biggest, got full HD res and is very good for gaming supposedly. It has a TN screen and doesn't have the ergonomic features but is very convenient for me for 2 reasons. Neither the Viewsonic or Dell have in built speakers while the Asus does. Also only the Asus has a HDMI port so for the PS3 on the other two I would need to use a DVI-HDMI cable and also use a component audio cable. So taking all this info in which would you recommend. I'm most bothered about picture quality, that's why I'm even considering the impractical IPS monitors. Also thought I'd note, if not apparent I will be using the monitor for gaming, but also movies and design work. Sorry for the LONG post but any help would be much appreciated.

    Thanks

All of them would really do what you want. Just go for the biggest you can afford

Between the three, I would choose the ViewSonic monitor - it offers the best specs and great screen resolution, placing it over the Dell (there's a huge difference between 1680x1050 and 1920x1080). I honestly wouldn't consider integrated speakers to be much of a plus if at all - the sound in those speakers is usually atrocious and can be far exceeded even with budget-basic $20 2.1 sound systems. The Asus adds screen size without adding resolution, so really you're not getting more screen real estate. It'd only be worth choosing over if you have trouble reading text on a 23" 1920x1080 monitor, but honestly, my brother's 21.5" 1920x1080 monitor has large enough text already, at the "small" DPI setting.

Most opinions seem to swing towards the Viewsonic. Just get separate speakers - most built in ones are barely better than those to be found on large laptops in any case.
