Hopefully this is the correct forum for this...

well some background information, i have been looking for a new LCD Tv for a while now, and school just started again for a new semester, and like any other university student money is tight lol...

so i got to thinking that what if i could buy a nice LCD Flat panel monitor, and convert it to accept the cable that i have...

    is this possible to do?

can anyone suggest some hardware that would be good for completing this task?
    Hardware suggestions
    A) Monitor... is there is *better* monitor that i should look into that will fulfill my needs?
B)Hardware to make the monitor show my cable tv...

Thank you everyone, sorry if this is in the wrong subforum

Some monitors have component, composite and even S-Video inputs i.e : Westinghouse L2410NM, or you can buy a Monitor with a built-in TV tuner i.e : Samsung T220HD/240HD/260HD (has all the inputs of a TV) , these are actually sold as TVs, but they are more closer to the LCD monitor counterparts of the same series : Samsung T220/T240/T260 than a normal TV (TN panel, low response time etc..).
Or you can buy an ordinary LCD monitor and use an external TV tuner or a signal converter box.
