Well, I am looking for a simple screen to use with my laptop, at a resolution of at least 1280x800, but I would also like to use it as a Tv screen for my Wii/Original Xbox, as well as freeview digital tv (its a uk thing), the xbox and wii connecting by scart or rca and the freeview by scart.
So, what I was wondering was, would it be best to look for a pc monitor that has scart and/or rca inputs, or a hd tv with vga input

A PC moniter will probably be cheaper because of the lower resolution LCD panel and since it won't need a tuner. In the US at least only the most expensive HD TVs come with a VGA input (though you could use a DVI to HDMI cable if your laptop had one, which would let you use any TV). Thus I would look for the PC moniter first and the HDTV second if price matters at all. If you have unlimited funds get the HDTV since you get extra features (the tuner).

I was looking for the same thing and i found the Samsung Toc T260HD it is a 26" HD tv that displays 1080p, has tons of imputs, remote, Digital Tv tunner and lots of other goodies, They have it on newegg and it comes in other sizes too, there is a 22 inch and a 24 inch also i beleve. I have the 26" version and i love it as a tv i am still waiting on my laptop to arive so i can try it out.
