I'm currently looking for a monitor to hook my laptop to when i'm at my office and use the lcd display as a secondary display. I won't do any graphics work with it, but i'd still like something decent.
I came across this deal and was wondering if i should go for it or not: http://www.ncix.com/products/?sku=59772&vpn=IPS226V-PN&manufacture=LG Electronics. I didn't find reviews for that display. Anyone has experience with similar monitors from LG?
EDIT: I'm not looking for a IPS panel per say, more for something in the $100-200 range around 22" with at 1080p or 1200p resolution. IF you have other good suggestions, i,m open to them.

I own the LG IPS236V monitor. I bought it a week or two ago to replace a crappy 24" TN-panel monitor that was giving me serious eye strain when it comes to text. I picked the LG IPS236V monitor because it was an inexpensive IPS panel display that reviewed very well, and had excellent performance for the price you pay.

The panel technology and features of the IPS226V and IPS236V are nearly identical, with the exception of being slightly different panel sizes (22" vs 23"). I would highly recommend this monitor to anyone looking for an affordable monitor with good text and color performance.
LG also has a similar monitor called the LG E2370V. It is the same panel technology as the IPS223V / IPS233V, with some additional features like a "gaming" video processing mode and a remote. -
Ordered, before you answered, i managed to find a review and a few user opinions and in the end i surmised that an IPS panel at that price would beat any TN in the same price range.

Nice pickup, man
.
Once you get it, you will wonder how you ever lived in a world of TN panels. -

Like what kent1146 said, once you go IPS, you can't go back. I just got myself a Dell Ultrasharp U2211H and my god, I don't really care about my laptop's screen at all anymore. The colors and so crisp and vibrant on an IPS that the gaming surroundings just makes you feel more with the game. You won't regret it!

Yeah, too bad i went crazy with the hardware recently, no more money for another IPS for my desktop monitor. I can't say i regret my many purchases at least and it was hard to pass an IPS monitor for 179 CAD.

You must be insane to not get one that price!

Get an U2711 or even a decent 30" 2560x1600 IPS
IPS + immersion from sheer panel size is something that Eyefinity/Surround has to work to defeat
EDIT: okay, I'll stop trolling. But yes, IPS is... easier on the eyes for me -
How did you get a u2211H for $140? Mine cost me $100 more than that...
Of course, even at the price I paid I don't regret it at all. My laptop screen looks horrible in comparison (of course my laptop screen looks horrible compared to just about anything), but the u2211h also looks better than my Benq G2400w 24 inch 1920 x 1200 monitor that I bought a few years back for almost $400 (which is why I don't feel bad about paying $230 for the Dell). That benq monitor has about the best viewing angles I have even seen in a TN panel, but the U2211h has even less tint shift. -
