Any tips on great deals on 17" monitors? I'll be using a Dell laptop w/a docking station. I've "heard" things about the monitor quality and figure I could do better elsewhere (for the $279 they were charging).

From dell for $180 you can get a refurbished 17" LCD. But I have seen 17" viewsonic LCD's for as low as $130. I would check slickdeals.net now and then to see if anyone posts a good deal on a 17" screen.

Dells LCD's are great! The usually get simmilar ratings as viewsonic LCD's. If you check PCmag or PCworld in some of their tests dells screens are rated very high. Usually are get 1st-3rd place out of the 10 screens they test.

FatWallet and SlickDeals are good places to look for monitor deals.
