    Hey guys,

its time for a new monchrome laser printer. I'd like to spend under $200. At the moment I have a Brother Hl-5040, it bends the pages and is pretty good but it would be nice to have something with a slightly higher resolution for my small notes. Its resolution is 2400x600. Any suggestions?

    Thanks

    Rob

I've got a Samsung laser at home which has provided good service for a couple of years. One reason I got it was because of the network port. Is network capability something you should be thinking of if you are upgrading? Duplex is the other feature that I would like but don't have.

    Hey,

Thanks for the reply. Networking is not an issue as I have a desktop always on that I will share it from. Don't need auto duplex, but it would be nice. My biggest want is something that prints very small fonts a bit clearer as my 4 to a page notes not printed very well. Good to know the Samsungs are a good product. Thanks.

You mustn't overlook HP but, as market leader, they tend to charge a bit extra for some of their products.

I have a Samsung and I have to say it is really good. It has done the job for me, and I'm pleased with the build quality. But as many others stated already, HP is also worth a look, and consider the availability of the ink in your area...
