Has anyone tried these? I've been thinking about picking one up, and just wanted to know what everyone thought about them. I've heard mixed reviews on the Monster guitar cables, but pretty much good things about the rest of them.

Do they use super corrugated, nano machine washed gold alloy fibers with quadruple bypass carbon fiber shielding and only cost 10 times what a normal power supply costs? Because if so, then it's an awesome deal.

LOL, hey I loved the nitrogen filled shield on some of their cables, good grief the atmosphere is roughly 66% nitrogen... and those cables had crappy ends

But you gotta ask yourself...can a hangar wire do just as good?

    Seriously, Monster is overpriced crap.

Overpriced...you can get just as good for *at cost* from places like amazon.com, and even better at monoprice.com!

I don't think monoprice sells power supplies. If you're looking for UPS's or power supplies in general, hit up Newegg or Amazon.

I wouldn't buy anything from monster just on principle. My bro bought two 1 meter 3.5mm to RCA cables(without consulting me first) for 35$ each, I could have built something with better shielding for 5$ each. And both of mine would have worked instead of having a 50% failure rate. Monster sells marketing, not products.

hmm, seems like an overwhelming no on monster cable. Here I was thinking that Lifetime guarantee actually made them awesome.

Does a lifetime guarantee really matter when they charge you 10 times(or more) than it should cost? Like I said, I've built superior cables for 5$ at longer lengths, and they charge 35$ a meter.

I don't know much about these, my tv's close to 15 years old but I did see something on a consumer watchdog show where a tech tested Monster cables along with a $12 generic brand he grabbed off the internet and there was no difference in performance.

What do you mean by cheap? You do not want to cheap out on the PSU, but you don't want to get ripped off either.

Well... I own two Monster Cable power conditioners/strips. They both have taken surges, brownouts, blackouts, whatever, and my equipment still runs perfectly. Of course, the same cannot be said of the Belkin power conditioners I was using before replacing them with the Monster Cable units.

But yeah. For cables, Monster Cable is a definite rip-off. I love going into Best Buy and reading the marketing hype on their packaging and then comparing the product to the cheaper Dynex brand. Essentially, both cables are the same, just with different molded terminators on the ends of the cables.

Here's an interesting article over at Blue Jeans Cable (where I go for my A/V cabling needs) if anyone is curious about the real difference between audio and video cabling. Check it out:
