The power supply given with my purchase of my PowerPro 11:36 is great for the times I need to have a heavy blunt object at hand in case of home invasion, however I'd like something a little more portable since I travel with my laptop to work and school every day. I don't know much about what is required to not blow up my laptop from a power supply so I'm deferring to the experts! I just want something very portable (I don't care how fast it would charge my battery, just want a healthy supply of power for gaming without chance of harming any components of my computer). Thanks in advance!

You should see the 160W (!) PSU of my monitor. It's like a notebook PSU. Just slightly bigger. It's literally bricked sized.
-
Looks like my current brick is:
Input: 100-240V ~ 2.25A 50-60Hz (this only matters for what country you're plugging it into really I think)
Output: 19V 9.5A
Also, does anyone know where to find what the tip of my power supply adapter is called? I saw some labeled as N1 or something like that, just wondering what to go looking for when I browse Amazon/Newegg/Tiger Direct. -
Look at the attached picture, from left to right: L2, L1 and L3 tips, you probably have one of those.

Looks like I have an L1 tip, thanks!

Oh and while i'm thinking about it, one more thing: a lot of replacement adapters come with more than one tip. The three you see came with my Targus APA05US and connect to the adapter with a 4-pin plug.

sidetracking a bit...how come nobody's came up with another sort of magnetic power cable connector for notebooks like the one apple uses? I'm sure it's patented but there's gotta be some way of making something similar without breaking patent laws... that connector is just way too slick to be Apple-exclusive

Did you ever find a new power unit?
-
Super late response... I did not find a more convenient sized replacement, however that has been on the back burner, I'm most likely just going to find another power brick to have stationary at my house and then leave my other one in my backpack.

Finding a smaller PSU might be hard, but one with a better form factor might be possible. If you have a thick PSU, it might be possible to find one that is a little bit larger, but slimmer making it easier to fit in a bag.

I think it more comes down to the availability of selection for power supplies for gaming laptops, seems like the one that is sold by PowerNotebooks/XoticPC/etc. are all you have to choose from.
More portable power supply/brick for PowerPro 11:36 (aka MSI Force 16F2)
