I'm one of those people with the hard plastic Func mouse pads and I was wondering, do you guys replace your mouse skates or do you spray on some of the bottled slick lubricant? Does the lub help with the wearing of the mouse feet?

I used to just replacing my skates (the feet that make contact under the mouse) until recently. Now its getting really hard to find replaceable skates for my G5 mouse. I'm gonna order some off of FrozenCPU but it seems like they are the only retailer that has them, I used to buy mine off of newegg and a few other places but they are out.

I'm also worried that these Everglide skates aren't as thick as the Corepad ones I used to buy, if they are the cheap thin ones then I might need to trash this G5 and buy myself a new mouse. linky

Right now I need replacement skates no matter if I do start using spray stuff, my bottom skate would actually dig into the plastic if I do try to use it.

really the only replacement skates ive seen are the ones for the mx510 and 518. and 800dpi just doesnt cut it for me anymore. i will have to check out frozen cpu and see those g5 skates. i need some new ones for my g7, but they use the same pattern.

I've mainly seen pre-cut "skates" for the MX500 series of mice. Honestly, I'd just buy some teflon tape and cut it to fit. I use the same mouse (but the revised version) and a fUnc pad too without anything additional (sprays or whatever else). I don't really get that much wear on my mouse feet as long as I clean the bottom of it for built-up dust and such.

Do you know of a good place to buy the tape? I haven't came across any place that has it.
