I got the Exact mat but on the precision side my G5 laser mouse works very badly. It jumps worse than my 4 year old crappy wireless optical mouse does. Its so bad that CS Source is unplayable. However on the speed side the mouse works flawlessly.
i tired my friends Mx518 on the precision side and it was working fine as well, accurately with no skipping or jumping no matter how fast i moved the mouse. It worked on the speed side also.
Now is this a problem with my G5 mouse or is this cuz of how laser mice work? Cant the detect on the precision surface? Razer's site does say that the ExactMat is for Optical and Opto Mechanical mice.
But for the cheaper Goliathus mats, its says "for all mice type
Is my mouse dying? Or is it cuz laser cant track on Precision side? Or should i get my mat changed and get the cheaper Goliathus mat precision? cuz i kinda prefer the precision side more than the speed side on my ExactMat

Well, the difference between the sides isn't that great. There probably is something up with your mouse but i don't think its worth replacing as of now. My Cyber Snipa Stinger works well on both sides.

Thanks,
the Cyber Snipa Stinger is laser right?
My Sensitivity increase button is also failing. Unless i press it very hard, it does not work at all.
So im thinking of getting a new one. Which of these do u think is better? G9 or Razer Lachesis. I would have have bought the G9 but there is a G9x out which has a better sensor, but unfortunately the g9x is not available in the stores here, and i cant buy online.
i really dont wanna spend so much on the old G9 jsut to find that a month later the G9x is here for the same price.
On the other hand the Lahesis does not have DPI indicator, which i really need as i m used to it on the G5. -
UPDATE: I got the Razer Lachesis. Its a lot better than my old G5. When i first bought the G5, i didn't think it was possible for any mouse ti be better than it. But the Lachesis is indeed quite better.
The shape is going to take me a few days to get used to, but it is much more precise than the G5 in movement and IMO looks better too. The only downside is the lack of a DPI indicator, but hopefully i will get used to it.
AND it even works on the Control side of the mat, thus leadig me to believe that there was something wrong with my G5 sensor. -
Congrats on your new Lachesis then. Scrap your old G5.

That's funny... my G9 works on both sides for me perfectly in CS 1.6... Is your pad clean?

Crimson Roses Notebook Evangelist
That occurred to me too, but the Exact mat is a hard pad and they don't really get dirty...do they? -
i am another g9 user, here and unlike other people on tis post, i havent bought a mat yet. So i want suggestions. Which is the best pad to go with the g9?
-
The Lachesis works fine though.
I would have gotten a G9, its just that the shops here werent selling the new G9x which is just a lil more expensive than the old G9. I didnt want to get an older version just to see that in a few days they have the G9x. So i got the Lachesis.
i kinda miss the DPI indicator a lot thoughthats the only negative to the Lachesis.
