Mouse, programmable buttons and vertical scrolling?

I'm going to buy a new mouse. I know what I want the mouse to do, but I still find it hard to find a mouse that does it. Perhaps someone here can be a little bit helpful.

This is the features I'm looking for:
A wire, wireless is out of the question.
At least 5 buttons.
Programmable buttons that can be set to do different things for different programs.
A scroll wheel that can scroll vertical and horizontal.

Any suggestions?

 

logitec MX518 is still the best if u want the most programmable buttons. It has

Left and right click + 5 other buttons + scroll wheel(only vertical)

The other option is the Logitec G5 blue rubberized one which has 1 less (other button) but has horizontal scroll.


i have personally stocked up on Mx518's because i love them so much and know soon they will be discontinued.

the G5 has a reinforced cable however the Mx518 cable is much thicker to start with.
Razor also offer mice with 4 programmable buttons (beside left and right click).. however the placement of the buttons i find is hard to use and is more layed out so it can be used by left handers.

for MMO play the Mx518 is still the clear winner.

The scrolling is important, now that I know of it, I need it. It would really make my life much easier to be able to scroll horizontal and vertical.
