Yes, sad but true, my tried and true, trusty Logitech MX500 of four years is finally starting to die out on me, the victim of a right-click that clicks, but doesn't register 100%. This was the best mouse I have ever used in my entire life, and I will be sad to see it go, if and when I finally have to send it to that great big electronics recycler in the sky.

That being said, I'm not going to give it up without a fight. Anyone know how this particular mouse ticks, and what I can do to prolong its life a few more years?

Can't solve your problem, but i'm also a proud owner of a MX500! And it really is the best mouse ever..my only problem was, that the "feets" of the mouse "died" a month ago ;) but i bought some glidetapes now and it feels perfectly again.
This mouse was definitive one of my best buys ever ;)
