So this question is for those whom own or owned a My Passport Essential SE. What are your thoughts of My Passport Essential SE compared to other hard drives you have used? Your experience? Pros? Cons?

I only use mine as one of my backup drives, and so far it has worked well.

I haven't owned one, BUT. I have met a lot of people who have and they are on of the least portable devices I've met.

The slightest abrupt handling and they are no good.

As I said, not my experience from owning one, just my view from other owners.

I own two, 1TB Passport SE's. I also own a Seagate 1.5 TB. The first Passport was purchased over a year ago and I couldn't be more happy with it. It has traveled thousands of miles with me and given me zero problems. I bought my second Passport a few weeks ago and it too has been flawless. (Found the only one on the rack listed for 109$ instead of the 149$! Damn Thailand floods sky rocketed the price)

The Seagate is one of the worst drives I've owned. I wouldn't recommend it for anything but data storage. Every single movie file skips; put the same movie file on my Passport and it doesn't skip a beat. I have it filled up and it sits in the corner in case the Passport ever does die. The price is nice compared to a WD; two of my buddies bought the same drive and neither can play a movie without skipping. 3/3 bad is not good chances in my book!

Highly recommend the Passport. I have almost 2 TB worth of movies and TV shows on them.

I'm sorry, are you saying that the WD's are ok for streaming movies from them or not ? Kinda got lost there :)
I got 500gb WD Passport under christmass tree for my father, so can can put movies on it, as the thumb drives are too small.
