I've just bought myself a P722 laptop from Mysn. I've bought all the peripherals but the thing that has eluded me so far is a decent backpack for it. An expensive laptop without a decent bag is an accident waiting to happen.

The dimensions of the Mysn P722 are:

    Length: 419 mm (16.5 inches)

    Width: 293 mm (11.5 inches)

    Height: 55 mm (2.16 inches)

For reference an Alienware M17X R2 has roughly similar dimensions:

    Length: 405 mm (15.98 inches)

    Width: 321 mm (12.65 inches)

    Height: 53 mm (2.11 inches)

Ideally it needs to be/have the following:

    • Securely hold the laptop in place with adequate padding (I'm happy to use a neoprene or similar case to supply additional protection if required)
    • Look smart (Not a main concern but important nevertheless)
    • Hold other stuff (External HD, full sized headphones, mouse etc)
    • Be well built (I don't mind paying a bit more if it will last for years)
    • Be comfortable (I travel a lot for work so it needs to be good for carrying around a hefty laptop and kit for long distances if required)

As any owner of a larger laptop knows finding the right pack is a bit of a mission - especially as the majority of retailers online don't have a full listing of internal dimensions. It's hard to know whether or not it will fit.

What I would normally look at having in my backpack:

    • Laptop
    • Adaptor
    • External HD
    • Mouse & pad
    • Full sized headset
    • Cooling pad
    • Some discs
    • Misc cables
On top of that I may have:

    • Shoes
    • Toiletries
    • Change of clothes
    • Kindle
    • Water bottle
    • Gym kit
Here are the options I've been looking at, feel free to add any others you know of or add your experiences if you own any of them:

(Some of these packs will accomodate even larger laptops)
