I would like to ask you guys on what you think about this product. I am planning to get this and would like to know if it is a better choice than the Logitech G13.

I love it. I think the Logitech one is no where even close to comfortable. The N52te is amazing. I use i to play WoW and other games like CS:S and COD and stuff. Trust me its well worth it. best thing I have ever invested in
-
I love mine as well. I've used the G13, and it's nice, but I don't like its symmetrical design as much. I will grant that it has more keys, but personally, I find 14 keys plus the space bar thing, plus the thumb button and the D-pad to be more than enough in all the games I play.
If I were you, I'd go to Best Buy and check them out; they usually have one of each on display, and if not you can at least sort of feel them through the packaging. -
My quibbles with the N52te:
- the keys have too much travel - I'd like a more positive, shorter-travel action with a more cushioned landing - say like a decent-quality scissor-action key. This applies to all the keys, but more than any other the thumb key.
- The joystick's grip is poor. I'd like a concave stick top with knurling.
- higher-quality wheel action wouldn't hurt. It feels like a bad clicky-ised knockoff of the last-gen Microsoft mice.
- too much light bleed from the backlighting. I know part of it is for the effect, but from a usability point of view I'd like more light to come out of the keys, and less from inbetween the keys.
Now having said this, it is effective in terms of what it offers. I have no experience with the G13. I might pick one up, but it's not high on my list of things to get right now. -

Wow, I seem to have created a storm regarding both of these items
-
*curses non-functional search*
Eh? -
The cap on top of the D-pad is removable, just so you know, although I prefer to leave it on.
-
*pulls off "joystick"*
*embarrassed cough*
All this time, and I never knew... Oh well, I'm determined to find something else wrong with it now
-
Haha, that's classic.
I do agree that I wouldn't like a free-spinning wheel on this keypad though. I think the wheel's fine as it is. Notches are very pronounced and easy to feel, and there's a good distance between them. -
Thanks for all your input guys. I would just like to ask which is more suitable to the smaller male Asian hand? I will be asking an aunt to buy this in the US for me so I would like to know if the n52te or the G13 is a better choice for me. I believe that the n52te is a better size but I would like to confirm this first.

Lol, if you have a small hand Dont even look at the G13
-
Lol, thanks Red_Dragon!
I don't exactly have a small hand. It's pretty average for typical Asians but is definitely smaller than American hands. -

Well i am Indian and i think my hands are midsized It felt pretty good on the N52 when i used it, it wasn't too large or anything.
-
Thanks. I'll definitely go for the n52te. Thanks for all your help guys!

no problem, enjoy man !
Let me know what you think once you get the N52TE, cause i'm going through the same dilemma with the G13. -
I'll definitely let you guys know. But it's going to take a while. I won't be getting it til December.

Lol, its all good. Im definitely giving my take once i decide as well
-
The N52TE's hand rest has two different positions. The smaller of the two should definitely be more comfortable than the larger one and the G13's only one.
-
And I suppose if worst comes to the worst you could take the palmrest off altogether for an even smaller-hand fit, and put some adhesive foam or something on the exposed area for grip (it's smooth plastic).
-
I have the N52te, I think the best position for me would be in between the 2 palmrest positions.
-
Thanks for the additional info. It really makes me more excited to get the n52te. Can't wait for December.
