Will an NC2000 with about a 7-8 pound laptop comfortably sit on your lap? I've only seen pictures but it looks like no attempt has been made for comfort.

Anything on your lap for a long period of time on your laptop is uncomfortable without proper blood flow.

It depends on how you position it, but in my personal experience, I can't find a comfortable position that doesn't block the fans. If I don't block the fans, the metallic part in the rear presses down on you, and it hurts after awhile, and can leave a mark. But that's just me, I'm sure others could have more success than me.

It will be comfortable but it will not work well on your lap as you would be blocking intake.

There is a knob on the side of the cooler, look at the pics in the guide, the side with the light has a knob. If its maxed out too bad. Try and alight the fans on your notebook with the vents even if it sits way to low on the cooler *the one in my review is far to high.
