    Hey all,

I'm doing research on a viable power source that I can use while in Korea. I'm wondering whether AC adapters tend to differ in terms of their tips and if so, whether I'll need to find a specific one to power the NZXT when it does arrive.

I would like to know whether these should be compatible with the NZXT.

I cant say for certain as i havent tried either of the ones you posted, but i don't think you should have an issue with either, the only thing that u might consider is that you gonna need to mod them to fit them on the plug. The LX comes with a AC/DC adapter already so you might as well wait for it to arrive and see if thats enough for your needs.

Personally, i would go for a smaller and more portable but really doesn't matter much, most fans consume like 0.1-0.3amp (some reach 0.5amp but not that common), between 3 fans your looking not even 1amp, so just don't go for anything lower than that, but i been using a 1.5amp rated in wallet psu and its fine.

How would I mod the cooler so that the AC adapter fit would fit?

Not to mod the cooler, but the plug, what i mean is there are a lot of different plug that the AC/DC PSU come with, the LX comes with certain type of plug, might or might not be the same plug your PSU comes with, so you might need to adapt the plug that it comes with.

But as i said earlier i would wait for it to arrive first and check if the one that comes with it already suit your needs. Remember if you go with 12V PSU u cant use the USB hub or you will fry the circuit inside, maybe even your laptop usb, so be carefull.

Ok. But I'm not sure that I'll be satisfied with an adapter with a 12-inch plug.

Would you happen to know of a guide to how to mod the adapter in the event I find it's not compatible??

Also...I noticed you modded your NZXT using scythe fans. Did you go off of a guide to mod it?

Well test first the one that comes, it should be a 5V, if you dont think its enough then get the 12V. But again be warned you shouldnt use the USB hub with the 12v psu pluged in.

Shouldnt be hard just to peel and attach, you can go as crazy as you want in terms of finishes or soldier, etc, whatever works for u.

I wouldnt consider a mod as i just went for a normal in wallet PSU (universal type) that comes with a lot of plugs, and worked well, so i didn't have a need to mod it.

What do you mean by "peel and attach?" I'm sorry, but I'm rather new to the world of coolers and modding. Consider me a nub!

    NVM. Found a solution:

    DSL Modem Adapter

I'm guessing that at least ONE of the adapter tips has to fit the cooler.

Chose this one over a few cheaper ones out there because it'll be usable in Korea.

    We'll see.
