    Hey Guys
I'm in need of some serious help.
I own a Sager NP8120 Gaming Laptop and am in need of the best of the best 5.1 Gaming Headset.
I just ordered this(pics below) External Sound card and plan on using it for my Logitech 5.1 Surround Speakers and subwoofer. Whether to use it for headphones too?? I have no idea. I'm sort of a noob when it comes to headphones. I'm unsure whether to buy a USB Headset (plug in to laptop) or the 3.5mm jack kind
If the The Sound Blaster X-Fi USB is good it's actually pretty small and I don't mind carrying it around.
I actually carry everything in a Large Pelican Case anyways.

I had my eye on these headsets! As they got really good reviews! But there not true 5.1 headphones.
I'm just a little confused and want to make the right purchase the first time and not have to send any back.

    senheiser > plantronics.

dont get a usb headset if your already getting the x-fi usb card, I own a pair of steelseries siberia neckband headsets and i can vouch for the sound and build quality.. the siberia v2 have always cought my eye but i carry my laptop and headset in a backpack everywhere i go pretty much and they are kind of big i think although i havent seen those in person.

but ive always heard great things about sennheisers

BTW i had a usb sound card from creative, the x-fi go..it was good but i broke it now i have a steelseries usb "7.1" card to match my headset.

I have that same sound card and I like it although it does not have hardware decoding like the desktop versions. The CMSS-3D headphone is also good IMO. I really do think that the external gaming sound card lineup in general is a bit lacking. I have heard that the Audigy 2 ZS notebook is a great card although it is PCMCIA and it's not being made anymore.
