I'm looking for a hard case where I can put my HP zv5000z 15.4'' Laptop.

I want something like a sleeve but in hard case. Snug Fit. I will carry this around in a backpack and don't want my new 15.4'' WVA WSXGA+ getting damaged from my brick-like CS books. I am thinking about getting a backpack made for laptops and then putting it with the hard case since i don't have warranty.

Please let me know if they made hard cases that are just like notebook sleeves.

Shinza won't fit my notebook apparently. they have 15'' & 17'' sleeves only!!!

    my dimensions are: zv5000v is 14 3/8" x 11 1/4" x 2"

what will fit this that is comparable to the shinza zeroshock sleeve?

i would like something really hard if possible or something really protective like the zeroshock but my be very portable to fit into my backpack! Just a simple super protective sleeve, don't want any extra pouches or anything ugly!

I know how you feel - I'm also looking for a hard case to put my laptop in, but that will also fit into my backpack. I'd like to be able to open it from the side, too, so that I don't have to take it out of my backpack everytime I want to take out the laptop. I'm envisioning something like this: http://students.washington.edu/nuri613/briefcase.gif

I've been looking for a while now, with no luck. The closest thing I've found is a briefcase made by matias called "laptop armor", but it doesn't open from the side. If it wasn't so expensive (~$175) I'd buy one and just hack into it to create a latch on the side.

If anyone has any suggestions, please let me know.

I have been impressed with the computer sleeve that comes with some Victorinox bags. It's also available separately as an accessory: http://www.swissarmytravelgear.com/webstore/moreinfo.cfm?product_id=3197&category=59

It handles 15 inch laptops up to about 2.5 inchs thick. It's a hard shell on the outside and the inside is cushioned with a nylon covering - don't have to worry about scratches and whatnot. It's loaded from the top and has a velcro band to keep your laptop inside the compartment. On the bottom are elastic bands that act as shock absorbers.

This particular sleeve is suited for larger backpacks...the JansPort Optimizer would be a perfect fit.

Try enter a Google search for one of the following: Targus, Spire (my favorite backapck), Booq (Messenger type bags and sleeves) , www.sfbags.com. This last one has everything.
I personally carry two laptops (one 17" Pwrbook and a Dell 700M 12" display) in a Halliburton DZ7 and now a DZ9 hard case.

    Good luck.
    Sincerely,
    macmac

PS - Look at the ads on this page. I have also bought from some of them!

My wife uses a wheeled backpack she found at Office Depot, brand name Lucas. It fits my HP zv5000z and has lots of storage. It can be carried as a backpack, hand lift, or pull it on it's wheels (collapse handle). She really likes it. [ :)] Her laptop is a Dell Inspirion 8500.

Im after the same thing, and its proving problematic to find cases and bags that fit 15.4 inch laptops. Im going to get a Crumpler "crisp suit" shoulder bag, Very cool they dont really look like laptop bags but have all the features.

I've been informed that although this is for a 17inch laptop it fits the Acer 4501WMLi perfectly.

I still need to find a sleev for it, just for round the house and everyday use kind of thing.

Only hot chicks can get away with wheeled laptop backpacks. A male student will get beat up for carrying a wheeled backpack at a UNIVERSITY!
I am hot, but not a chick. [)]

Depending on your school, they may see you as an up and comming, young business professional with a serious focus on his future. Ya buyin that one? [:p] Hey, I knew a kids in HIGHSCHOOL and college that used to carry their books in briefcases.

The best was when I was a sophmore, there was a kid (about 15, 16) who carried his books in one of his fathers old briefcases. Well, one week he had trouble remembering the combo. When he finally did and opened it up, his face went pale.....his father had used the briefcase at some time and left some....adult entertainment behind. It was a very interesting class that day...

Try looking at this case. Tabletpcbags.com
It has a hard bottom to it. Can be used many different ways
I use my tablet in the case all the time
They make cases for most tablets
