I've read so many printer reviews on various sites, but I still haven't found the one that seems to be what I'm looking for!

I'm still using an HP LaserJet 1020 (circa 2005) but it's days are numbered. I would love to join the modern world and be able to wirelessly print also. Since I use my laptop (Dell Latitude 6430u) for my primary computer, it's a real pain to hook up the USB cable every time I want to print something.

I definitely want a laser printer and I think a monochrome (B&W) will suit my needs fine, no need for color. I also don't need a 'multi-function' printer because I have a compact scanner that can handle all my scanning and copying needs.

My flatbed scanner and my photo printer are both Canon models and I've been very pleased with them. But even though I really don't care for HP, I must admit that my LaserJet 1020 has been a great printer. The only complaint I've ever had was the cost of HP toner, but I've been using generic toner from Newegg for several years with no issues.

So- any recommendations for me??? :hi2: :D

Haha for a second I thought this was for a monochrome laser POINTER. It would make sense but monochrome would've been redundant.

Anyways... I have used a Brother B&W laser printer for a few years and it's never failed me, or even required a change of toner I believe. So I can attest to their quality.

I got a wifi router that let me hook my printer up to it. Now my printer is wireless. Just to give you the option.

Always price the replacement toner, as some can cost as much as the printer itself, also a lot of toner cartridges can be refilled with bulk toner powder.

Well, I have a HP LaserJet P1102w and it works pretty well for the price. It's usually on sale, so check it out (iirc, it's on sale on Newegg right now).

The HP LaserJet P1102w or the DELL B1160w are looking like my best bets. Even though I've been a loyal Dell Latitude owner for the last 7yrs and had Dell desktops for well over a decade, I've never had a Dell printer before....

I'm not a big HP fan in general, but my LaserJet 1020 has been a true workhorse for over 8-years! The only thing I've ever had to replace was the Separator Pad (under $20) and I've been using generic toner cartridges for the last 5+ years with no problems.

So I'm leaning toward the HP P1102w, I think....

I've been using generic toner for a little over a year and it's behaved well with it. Lasts quite a long time too (or, that's just the property toner has over ink I suppose).

Brother all the way for monochrome laser.

If you have some kind of staple/office xxx around, they may have some kind of recycle/trade in program.
