My current bookbag is dead. Broke this morning.

I currently have/had swissgear Ibex bookbag. It was a great bookbag and I'm tempted to rebuy it but does anyone know of any other great 17" laptop bookbags? Any website that sells a variety of bookbags from different companies....

I have this one and it has been in service for over three years. It used to carry my 15" Asus and now it houses my 17" MSI. I can't get over just how much stuff I can fit into this bag and it holds up very well. You can tell the bag is made with high quality material.

Yeah like I stated above I have that bookbag already and I'm looking to see if there is a better one that has come out in the 4-5 years since I bought it.

It was a great backpack....not denying it but I already know how its performed so linking to the same exact thing isn't exactly what I was looking for.

Perhaps a price point would have been advisable? That thing costs a fortune and has many limitations.

Most laptop backpack are pretty blah since they're priced at the consumer level.

Photography/video backpacks by comparison have a much wider variety, are much sturdier, and are many time more comfortable over the long haul. I should also mention that they cost a lot more.

I have yet to find a laptop backpack that I really like. I hope you find a backpack you like OP. As of yet, I have not.

I took a look at the Everki website....not impressed at all by the choices.

Sigh it looks like nothing great has really come out in the years since I got the Ibex...

Perhaps I should buy another one after all rather than waste my time searching.

Once my IBEX bites the dust (still looks new after 3 years), I would have no problem buying another one. I think the pockets are perfect for me and it is very comfortable. Lastly, it is very well made. You probably wouldn't find the same quality for less than $100.

Believe it or not, the IBEX is not Huge. I've seen much much bigger. It is not much larger than a normal backpack. Ultimately, it just depends on what you have to carry back and forth to work. Anything smaller than my IBEX would not fit all of the junk I need to carry.

Definitely feeling the SwissGear SA9769.....do you think it would fit the current Envy 17 notebook from HP?

The Case Logic looks like it would get the job done but it looks rather bland. Still its a good overall option. The Targus XL would my 3rd choice though and then the Case Logic. Thanks for all the replies though. Wasn't really expecting all that after the initial responses but very much appreciated!

I like the SwissGear SA9769 as well but I don't think it's going to fit a 17" laptop.

That sucks. I think Best Buy still has them in stock. Do you know if they have a larger 17" version?

The new swissgear would be great if it had as many pockets as the Ibex. But it doesn't of course.

Will definitely buy the ibex asap....

I was thinking the exact same thing. When I open up my IBEX at work and start pulling the contents out, my co-workers ask me if there is anything I don't have in the bag.

Things I carry back and forth to work.

MSI 17" Laptop w/Massive Power Adapter
    Thermaltake 17" Notebook Cooler
    D-Link DIR 655 Router
Extra Work Uniform, socks and boxers
    Gaming Headset
    Razer Mouse Pad
    Logitech G700 Mouse
    Point and Shoot Camera
    Asus Transformer Prime Tablet
    Phone Charger
    External HDD
    HDMI Cable

Yea, I think that's about it.
