My 3.5" WD Green is dying, so I need a replacement drive. The best options (at least from a cost/GB perspective) seem to be:
3 TB WD Greeen/Red or 3 TB Seagate Barracuda - $120
4 TB Seagate Barracuda - $170
Which of these is the best choice for a data drive? And are there any other drives I should be looking at?

The WD Green drives tend to be very aggressive in shutting down to save power, so you'll be wasting a lot of your drive's time just in turning on/off the drive. IIRC, HTWingNut had a big issue with this. Not sure if that's the case for Red drives, though.
Never had any issues with my Barracudas, however. -
I have a 500 gb green drive from 2008 or 2009. It would shut down alot to save energy and take approximately 10 to 15 seconds to start up again. I have read a few threads about other people green drives getting failures, but mines is still going strong.
I have the 3 tb Seagate and its still going
tldr - avoid green, get seagate -
Thanks for the recommendations so far. Though I hesitate to blame the failure on WD (I moved at the end of July, so it's entirely possible that the drive was damaged in transit), I've nonetheless been leaning towards the Barracuda 3TB as well, if only because it's a 7200 RPM drive.
Speaking of which, I came across another 7200 RPM drive: the Toshiba HDKPC08 3TB. Does anyone have any thoughts on that drive?
Need a new HDD for my external enclosure
