I'm looking for a stand for a Toshiba Qosmio G25, Considering this lapotp has the opticle drive on the Font of the unit. hoping to use it as a sort of desktop replacment, I have a Dinovo keyboard and mouse setup, so i'm hopeing to be able to raise the Qosmio slightly so its more comfortable using it. hope you can help

    Something like a cooler?

You are going to use it on a desk right?

HP has a neat laptop 'dock-stand', but I think those are HP compatiable only..

Not so much a cooler, something to raise the hieght of the lcd, so its sort of at eye level

I have the Kensington notebook dock/stand. Dell sells it as an accessory with their laptops, but I have a Gateway and bought it on amazon.com. It has 4 USB ports, and also raises the notebook to a multitude of angles for easy viewing. The entire side is open, so you should still be able to access your drive, plus it's very easy to leave your printer and other USB items attached to the dock and have one quick connect to one of your notebook USB ports. I had my doubts on this, but have really liked it.

sorry, maybe you misread my first post, but on the Qosmio the CD/DVD Drive is on the front, and from what i can see these Kensington docks cover the whole front

Yep. I thought you meant it was toward the front of the side, not actually on the front. The Kensington wouldn't work. Sorry!

I use the Griffin iCurve laptop stand for my Acer Aspire 2000. It has the memory card (SD,MS,etc.) in front and it is not blocked by the stand. I use it with a Logitech wireless keyboard and mouse. Take alook here:

Thanks, i was considering this stand because it looks really cool, although i was worried because i thought the notebook might slide of easily, due to none of the rubber pads touching the stand, i judge this is not the case?

    thanks, Cameron

The Griffin iCurve stand has little rubber feet (more like a rubber strip) on both sides near the front and back. My laptop also has rubber feet and it sits pretty well on the stand. I haven't had any issues with it sliding off.
