i'm looking to bring a combination lock with me to work, so i can lock it up when i'm not in the office. not looking to spend too much, and found ebay to have $7 combination kensington locks. am i risking anything going with those locks?

Dont buy any Kensington branded lock at the moment the combination version you linked can be opened in 30 seconds with a bent fork, also the version with the circular key can be opened in 10 seconds with a pen top, or a piece of rolled up toilet roll holder.
There are lots of videos on utube just search for Kensington.
Try to find a lock with a flat key as they are a lot harder to pick.
I bought the one below, it seems a lot harder to remove and is very cheap.

but isn't it the same as the one i linked, it looks the same. but i really only need one that will deter people. i trust people i work with, but not that much

They are extremely flimsy, which nulls the point of the product

don't bother finding a good lock... the point of the lock is to deter any potential thieves...
these kensington slot lock are easily breakable... no matter how they look like... they just prevent at-the-moment-greed-stealing-something's-not-locked-down...
just get a cheap one
