Hey all,
I recently ordered a Sony VAIO Y-Series CULV laptop. I'm looking to get a bag for it, but I'd prefer a backpag over a traditional shoulder or messenger bag.
The VAIO Y-Series has a 13.3" screen and weighs 3.9 pounds, so it's not really a prime candidate for most laptop backpacks, which tend to be designed for laptops with 15.4 to 17 inch screens. The VAIO's dimensions are 12.8" wide x 8.9" deep x 1.2" thin.
I haven't done a ton of research yet, but so far I've come across only two small-ish laptop backpacks:
- STM Evolution Small Backpack
- MobileEdge Edge Netbook Backpack
The MobileEdge is slightly smaller than the STM and seems like it would fit the VAIO Y-Series perfectly. It's also less expensive than the STM bag ($50 vs. $85) but I don't particularly care for its styling.
The STM Evolution is slightly larger than I'd prefer, but at least it doesn't seem to be as large as most laptop bags out there.
Any other suggestions? I don't need to carry a ton of stuff, so again, a smaller laptop backpack would be preferable. If all else fails, I guess I might order the Sony VGP-CCB4 laptop bag from Sony Style, which should fit the Y-Series quite nicely.

Swissgear makes the best bookbags period, my bag is for up to 15" notebooks but my Y-series fits in it just fine and is in a separate pocket with some padding to protect it from bumps and scratches:
