Can someone recommend me a small notebook mouse with 4 buttons... prefereably wireless.

I normally use the third button (pushing down the scroll wheel) to COPY texts while the 4th button (usually near the thumb) would be assigned as a PASTE button.

I looked at logitech, microsoft and keninston but all of their notebook mouse only have 3 buttons.....

On the other hand, the Microsoft Wireless Notebook Optical Mouse 4000 has a 4th button but i think this is used as a "magnifier" button. My question is, can i re program it in the Microsoft program to assign it to another function (perhaps as "PASTE").

anyone knows if this can be done?

    Thanks

Umm, why don't you just use CTRL+C, CTRL+V to copy/paste?

if you install the driver for it from a cd or download, yes, you can remap buttons. if you let windows autodetect and autoinstall the mouse on without the additional software, then you won't be able to remap.

dragonesse - I understand that for most mouse out there, installing their intended drivers would let you be able to configure and remap the buttons but are you sure that i can do that with the Microsoft Wireless Notebook Optical Mouse 4000? the 4th button seems to be specialized as a magnifier button and i want to be 100% sure that it can be remaped before buying the mouse.

The logitech V400 has an up/down rocker button in addition to the 2 regular mouse buttons and the scroll wheel(w/side to side scroll). And all of the buttons can be remapped to whatever you need using the logitech software.

Some of us work or have worked in data entry. I used to have to copy and paste several thousand times a day. It can make a huge difference in that case.

I have the logitech v400 and it has 4 buttons, all programmable. It actually has 7 programmable 'buttons', though:
    1. left click
    2. right click
3 & 4. the two buttons next to the left click
    5. pushing straight down on the scrollwheel
    6. pushing scrollwheel to the left
    7. pushing scrollwheel to the right

And cut, copy, paste, etc are options for them all.
