I'm looking for suggestions and recommendations for a relatively inexpensive wireless printer.

I don't want to have my laptop tethered to my printer whenever i want to print something off, it's just too much of a pain! It also limits where I can place my printer and laptop.

I need a wireless printer that's not too expensive, has a built in scanner and will do good quality photo and text printing without being too much of an ink hog (or having really expensive ink)

    Any suggestions?

In my opinion, the best way is to not find a printer that has wireless, but to find a good decent printer with manageable ink cartridges and decent print quality, and hook it up to a USB wireless print server, or even a router with a print server.

Take a look at the HP Officejet Series of Printers, they are very nice printers and I am sure you'll be able to find a wireless version within your budget.

or hook it up to an old or current pc and use that as the print server... :)
