Hi you all! I'm new to this forum (and already asking for help)
Some background now. I just bought a Lenovo Thinkpad X220 and now my previous backpack (a 10 years old TechAir) cannot keep this new laptop in the right place.
I'm not a heavy traveller, but I'm doing like ~6000 Km a year carrying my laptop and a couple technical books, so I need something durable, that fits this laptop *and* the books, as well as cables, headphones and so on. I'm willing to pay up to 100 (~$140).
I spent the last two weeks looking for backpacks from Ogio, Wenger, Crumpler, Booq, Axio... And in the last two days I thought the Crumpler Little Stevie is a good choice, but I'm not sure anymore.
So, can you help me in my decission, please?![]()

Would recomend any Taurus backpack, theyre really resistant, full of acessories like cd/dvd internal cases and others, and very confortable when ure wearing it.
Recently i bought a 14" dell vostro and it cames with this dell curve backpack, I should say, it's a very nice choice too. The notebook compartment is better than the bed i sleep, if my notebook could talk he would probably be thanking me for this bp. It have 3 compartments, 1 for the notebook, 1 for books, folders etc, and one for acessories like flashdrives pens etc. And its really compact in comparisson to the usual Taurus backpacks, the price where i live is R$90 in dollars would be something like 50U$.
glad to help -
I think you meant Targus. I've one of these back in 2001 and was dissapointed. As I said, I travel a bit and well, my luggage tends to be tortured
-
ops yes Targus :X taurus is a weapon manufactor lol. Man what did u do to ur luggage
Here in my country at least targus gives a 3 or 5 (think 3) years of warranty on their bps. So if a zipper broke or something like that they fix it or change the bp for you. If targus isn't strong enough for u would recommend a military clothes and accessories store then
the dell backpack don't see to be any more resistant than my targus bp, but sure is more compact and comfortable for the notebook, reason why im using it instead of my targus (bought this one in 2008 still like new lol). hope u find some bp
if i see any good one i post the link. c'ya

Let's say that I need something waterproof, partly snowproof and, of course, well padded. Ballystic nylon is also a plus.
My main problem is that I travel a lot by bus, car and train, and I don't want to buy a backpack every couple years. If I found something interesting I'll let you know. -
I was recently looking for something similar, and found the High Sierra Access Daypack - the laptop compartment is a little large for my 11.6" laptop, but I use a sleeve as well, and that helps. In addition to the laptop compartment, it has two other compartments for books/accessories, and several smaller pockets for accessories. There is a pocket on the bottom of the bag that holds a waterproof rain cover (I haven't had the opportunity to use this yet, as it doesn't rain much here, especially during the summer).
I've been quite happy with it so far. -
Finally I'll go for a Booq Boa Flow M. Big enough for 15 incher I think, but has a cool camera pocket
I'll let you know my impressions when it arrives.
Need backpack advice for 12 incher
