I need a storage drive with at least 750gb of space. The more the better. I don't care if I have to use an external enclosure, all I want is a fast hard drive(70+ MBps) that can at least connect to usb 2.0 and esata. More connections are welcome too. I'm trying to find the best space/performance/price ratio.

    Anything will be helpful thanks.

I also perused buy.com..but for the money, this one seem to be nice, if you can deal with a MIR!! Newegg is pretty good with their MIR's ;)

    Hope that helps!

    Cin ;) :)

I have three of these...actually the CAUM version...and find the Cavalry line to be pretty darn good.

I don't know about speed because I am no expert in that area. All I use them for is media storage, and they seem to work well.

ESATA speeds provide great transfer rates. I have the Wester Digital 1TB Green drive and plugged it into this external enclosure. I'm getting anywhere from 100MB/s to 180MB/s via the ESATA connection.

On a side note, transfer rates vary greatly depending on the file size.

I have that same enclosure, but with a WD 250GB drive. I'm just running out of space now and need another hard drive to add to my storage and to back up all my computers.

With the size that big there will most likely be an ac adapter for the cheaper ones. I prefer the ones w/o ac adapter.
