It's my acer laptop ill be using, usb 2.0 w7x64.The external HDD is Western Digital WD5000AADS Caviar Green Hard Drive - 500GB, SATA-3G, 32MB, Intellipower.Rocketfish box.I got a esata cable.Just need adapter for laptop.
I use a L,R,C & sub for speakers.I been using a dual headphone jack,my laptop's jack has a short now.2 M jacks to rca jacks running to my SS(L.R.C.W).Then for output,L&R-F jack to rcs & center hooked in the SS directly. Its a cheap emerson with amp mounted in the sub.Just getting stereo sound of course.

I'd like to get both in a single online store. But if I can get them cheaper from 2 different stores, ill do that

Why would you want USB to e-SATA. I'm not even sure such a thing exists and you will gain no benefits at all. If you have an expresscard slot, then an expresscard to e-SATA adapter is a possibility. From what i could see on rocketfish enclosures, they all have at least one USB connector.

If you want an external USB soundcard, turtlebeach has some for ~25$.

I checked and USB to eSATA adapters do exist, but again i don't really see the point to them unless you have a device that is eSATA only.

    It will help transfers a bit.My acer doesn't have one,just 3 usbs a hdmi & a SD card slot.My external has 4in 1 card reader,esata port,& firewall port for firewal to usb connection(what I been using).
Their is usb to esata adapters, guess not many use them.

    Unlikely.

I didn't quite understand what you meant by 'firewall port' either. Do you mean Firewire? Firewire to USB = again, kinda pointless.

If you mean that you will get faster transfers with a usb to eSATA adapter, forget it, data transfer will always be limited by the speed of the slowest interface, namely USB2.0 in your case.

Anyways: Amazon.com: Turtle Beach Audio Advantage Amigo II USB Sound Card & Headset Adapter: Electronics

EDIT: As for the soundcard, what do you want from it, just an audio out or something more?

It started with just wanting a simple out.But now i'd like more. The sound blaster I posted is ideal for me.Has L/R rca outs. But the other confuse me.Their is a black jack out that isn't labeled. Then another thats orange marked C/Sub.What cables are needed & what is the black jack for?
