Alright, I am completely new to this. My Aunt got me a laptop since I am starting college. I would like a backpack to take it to school along with my books, but I want it to be protected. The main dilemma is my computer. I am a bit confused. I have an HP Pavilion. That much I know. But on three different spots on my laptop is says it is a dv9500, a dv9000, and a dv9535nr. So I am not sure what model it is. I also had though she got me a 17 inch screen. Well, I measure it and the dimensions are 15.5"by 11" by 1.5 ". But then Diagonally it measure 18.5". So I am confused. What size would my laptop be?

I was looking at the Surge. It has just about everything I want.

    It is a good name
    It has water bottle holders
    Looks spacious
    A bit stylish

I am only a 5'4 young girl so I don't want anything huge.
I have also looked at the targus Flare but cannot find a dealer that sells it.

Are there any other north face backpacks that can hold my laptop? I do't want to get a backpack and have it not fit. And I cannot spend a lot of money for a booq. I am looking to spend no more than 100 dollars.

Thanks so much if you can help me. I am honestly clueless!

Hey there, I believe you have a 17" notebook!

I was in your same position..but I was looking for a good laptop backpack for biking, etc..and, I'm 5'4.

Here is a link to a page on ebags.com you may find of interest..it's for some Women's Laptop Bags...
    www.ebags.com:

from amazon.com: (should be segregated to 17") - and Swiss Gear makes awesome backpacks, BTW :D
#1 and #2 look pretty cool (to me) ;)

    A few 17" Swiss Gears:

I'm not sure if this will fit or not...but this is a really sweet North Face one..comes in different colors too:

Thanks!! I have checked out Ebags and Altrec. I am leaning towards North face just because of the good name. They are more sporty and have a lot of features I like. Since I am in college, I don't need it to look professional. I just want my laptop to be able to fit in the pocket. Is that possible do you think?

For example the North Face Borealis has dimensions of 15.5" x 11.3" x 2" for laptops it fits.

While the surge will supposedly fit laptops of these dimensions 15.75" x 11.25" x 2".

My laptop with my measurements is 15.5"x11"x1.5". do you think that is too close of a fit? I am so undecided.

Here is the Targus Flare you were looking for:
    http://www.buy.com/prod/targus-flar...k-targus-flare-black/q/loc/101/204219592.html

The nice thing with ebags.com, is that most of the time - On the bottom detail..you will see *Will My Bag Fit* use the *drop down*, and look for your Model, and Voila' your all set if it's listed.

And, on a lot of these you will find the dimensions listed! :D

I think I am really leaning towards the Big Shot. It seems like it will have the most room. Thank you so much. And I actually found the Big Shot for only 69.99 and free shipping. It seems like quite a deal. Now I just have to decide between Kingfisher Blue and Ink Blue.... :)

Great! If it were me, I would choose the Kingfisher Blue! :D

The blue colors *blended* set off a nice vibrancy! It *pops*. The other one is just a normal navy blue to me. ;)

It depends on you though, and what you want! ;) :D

Don't forget there is free shipping on that! :D

Here are some more savings I found:
