    Check out the Razer Ferox. It's what I have and it's quite loud and clear for me. A bit bass lackey but this is to be expected from any portable speaker. 360 degree left and right stereo is a cool feature too.

    I got the logitech v20 for $20.. very nice and loud sound, USB powered.
