I hear that sensitivity of laser mouse has gone up drastically and accuracy also improved. I'm hoping that this is what it really is about so I went online and searched for a few "affordable mice".
I'm no rich guy so I can't opt for the latest Logitech mouse G9. If you ask me "do you care about the looks?" I'd say hell ya the looks are important. Here's what I'm looking for:
- Egronomic design (I use my comp for extreme long hours and I can't risk getting Carpel Tunnel syndrome)
- Sensitivity and accuracy (Yes I need it for gaming!)
- Design
My price range is about 45 Canadian dollars (after tax/shipping...etc)
What do you guys recommend?
My current list:
- Logitech MX400 (I like the design but it looks pricy)
- Logitech RX1000 (a simular variation of MX400)
- Microsoft Laser 6000
-
Anyone? Can someone please help gimme some suggestions?

I would go with the Logitech RX1000 or if you want to spend a bit more and get the Mx400 if you want the extra 2 buttons. I wouldn't recommend the Microsoft 6000, because from what Ive read the Logitech is superior in every way (ergonomics, materials, feel, ease of use, and software).

if ur willing to put in an extra 10 bucks or so you could probably find a logitech g5 laser gaming mouse, i have one and its the best mouse ive ever used. this thing is amazing.
even if you have to look on ebay, do it this mouse it worth it. -
I'll recommend the Mx400 also. Great feel, decent weight and good general performance. If you are a hardcore gamer you may really need to spend a little more and get a G7 or the G9 for ultimate performance, but the MX400 is a great performer.

Hey guys thanks for the tips but I see that G5 doesn't have the second mouse button for me to go back and forth on the webpages... do you think it's a big disadvantage? I'm comming from an intelli-explorer 3.0 so I'm customed to having 2 side buttons.
Also I was wondering what DPI does MX400 have? Does anyone know? The online flyer I'm looking at did not say what DPI this mouse has...
Right now I'm really considering between MX400 and G5 I've found a refurbed G5 for around 36 dollars (after shipping)... I might order after reading the replies here tomorrow. -
Logitech tends to be vague in stating what DPI their mice use for the regular general purpose mice. Odds are the MX400 is 800DPI. The G5 is definitely higher I'll bet on that for sure... not sure exactly how much but definitely higher than the 800DPI mark.

good choice (it goes up to 2000 dpi, and you can set 5 predetermined dpi settings using the setpoint software)

I've been using a G7 (wireless version of G5) for 2 years. I just got the DeathAdder by Razer and it is AMAZING! It feels really good in my hand. The Logitech feels good too but the Razer's click buttons are contoured so your fingers rest easily on them. BTW, I used left scroll and right scroll to go back and forth on webpages when using my G7. Save the side button for something else.
Need help in choosing the right desktop mouse
