I was wondering if I should get a gaming headset for my new Asus G1S which I will be getting in 2 weeks' time. I heard the speakers on the laptops usually suck so yea. What headset should I get? Any recommendations from you guys?

What is your price range? Also, does it have to be USB?

I use the Sennheiser PC150s - they are a great headset for the money. They're not USB but are worth looking at.

Good bass, clear sound. I'm not an audiophile, but I think they sound wonderful for games and general music (pop, rock). The microphone is crystal clear.

My price range is about US$75. I was thinking about the Steelsound 5H v2. Is that one any good? Or is the Icemat Siberia better?

I thought i read the G1 had a built in mic

I would reccomend a pair of headphones grado 60 or sennhesier something or another and a good mic that you can clip on to the cord for best sound quality

I was also looking at turtle beach's Ear Force X52 headset. It's not USB, but it has a detachable microphone, 5.1 surround sound (yes, individual speakers in each earphone) and is only like $50. I realllly want one :p

Of course in order to take advantage of them, a 5.1 sound card is needed like Creative's Audigy 2 ZS for PCMCIA or Creative's X-Fi Notebook for expresscard.
