I am using a Sony Vaio (click me) right now, and just got an Asus VE228H monitor in the mail today. I am planning on order the Sager 8150 sometime soon.
Now the problem I have is, the screen on this laptop looks amazing, very bright whites and great color and blacks and looks more detailed. Looks very smooth. The Asus, to be honest, looks like crap next to it. I find it hard to believe that the screen quality on the laptop is really that much better than this monitor although it could be. I have messed with all the settings on the monitor, and the whites and brightness can't even get close to it. Am I missing something, or is it just that the monitor won't ever look good next to this laptop screen.
As far as the laptop goes, I'm not really sure now if it's the glossy or the matte. It looks glossy compared to the matte, very bright and pretty. The description on it states that it has an anti-glare coating on it though which makes me think maybe it's a matte? Or do they have the glossy w/ the anti-glare? Next to my other glossy laptop, there are no reflections and I can see on it much better outside.
Which leads me to my next question. I want this screen, which would be what I'm looking for on an external monitor around 22" that would compare to this, and also, on the Sager, which screen do I want to pick that resembles this one? I didn't want the matte at all because I don't like it's dullness. This monitor was a mistake to begin with because I thought I was getting a glossy one. If the Matte on the Sager looks like this on the Sony Vaio I'm all for it though. Any ideas? Sorry it's so long.
Edit: Sorry, completely butchered the title of the thread![]()
