Hi, I have a HUGE problem with the power on my laptop right now. I've noticed that when I plug in my AC adapter into my laptop, it will only power/charge my laptop if the AC adapter connector is positioned in a certain angle (extremely inconvenient). And of course, the AC adapter connector will slip out of this angle so when I'm gaming, I won't even notice that my laptop isn't charging until it's too late...

My question: is it the connector on my AC adapter that's probably the problem here, or is it the power connector pin in my laptop that's the issue (gulp)? Do AC adapters break like this after a while? I can always just buy a new AC adapter w/o any problems, but if it's the power pin in my laptop, then I'm in for some trouble...

Just FYI, this is NOT a battery issue at all. This problem occurs w/ or w/o the battery inserted.

    Thanks for your opinions,
    Ben

Can you post pictures of it plugged in so we can get a better idea if it is the computer or the adapter that is causing the problem?

Here it is... sorry it's so blurry, but I couldn't really find a way to take the picture efficiently, plus my camera sucks, so yeah....

Anyways, this is how I normally plugged my laptop in before, but here it is NOT charging. I don't know what happened, it just started doing this recently all of a sudden (about the past 1~2 weeks). I've had this laptop for about a year and a half.

Also, there's one other anomaly I forgot to mention. When I plug in my laptop charger and then try to jiggle it to try to find the correct angle, it'll make these little sparking sounds. It's nothing too significant, but it is some cause for worry, at least on my part. Like I said, this never happened before.

Well on my old laptop its an HP the computer wouldnt charge unless the charger was positioned perfectly so i went and bought a new charger and to my expense the charger wasn't the prob. it was the power connector pins that was the issue i had to order the parts and pay my friend to do it for me......which came out to be 50$ not bad i spent more on the charger.....

OK, well, I've gone ahead and purchased a new AC charger on eBay, I'll tell you guys how it goes.

@-L1GHTGAM3R-: yeah, hopefully that's not the case for me, I don't have too much money to my name, and the online tutorials that explain how to open your laptop and swap out the power connector pins look way too risky. I'll see what happens with this charger I purchased..
