Hi id like a laptop backpack or bag which i can hang on me so i have my hands free that doesnt look like a laptop bag! [To deter thefts and also so i can look funky fly haha]

For a 17inch dell vostro laptop.

Prefably so if i dropped it it would still be safe! and yeah weather resistant as it rains alot over here.

I use a Targus flare backpack to tote my DTR around. People kind of stare at me sometimes when I pull my computer out of the bag. I'm not sure if they're surprised that there was a laptop on there. (I don't think it looks like a computer bag) Or maybe they're just admiring my handsome face. :D ;) :D Back on topic: I really can't say enough that's good about his bag. I love it!

It sounds like this bag would fit your needs pretty well. Check it out here: http://www.notebookreview.com/default.asp?newsID=4022

Yes, it's easy to take them off. I did on mine and it looks a lot better now. It's also not hard to put them back on later in case you change your mind.

It's just one little clip thing that holds the strap on. Easy off, easy on. I didn't have to cut it.

Absolutely. I bought a Swiss Gear Ibex just today. Fantastic backpack that accomodates a 17 incher, though mine's only 15.4. And it doesn't scream "NOTEBOOK INSIDE" like my previous Targus did. Swiss Gear backpacks have tons of individual pockets to stash stuff too. Great backpacks.

I have a Northface Bandwidth backpack to carry my notebook around when I need to use a backpack - definately doesnt look like a notebook bag at all :D

It is well built, I would use a sleeve though as the padding isnt the best as far as protection goes, but for carrying around on your back it is very very comfortable (like it was designed to be good to carry, the laptop feature is secondary unlike notebook specific backpacks.)

It carries my 14.1 Asus A8JS just fine, but I also have had my HP NC8230 17" work notebook in there without an issue as well.

Can carry a lot of stuff in it. I like it overall, and it definately does not scream laptop in here lol

I have the grey and yellow one :D
