Need some help with MIFI devices, especially from these who rely on them while travelling.

    Hello there,

I'll be replacing the Clevo P955ER with an Asus GM501 (with the 1070), which means losing out on the inbuilt LTE module. Something I've found quite useful when traveling.

With that in mind, I've been looking at using a MIFI to fit that role, such that I never have to tether using my phone.

To that effect, I placed an order for the GlocalMe G3. From the reviews I can find online, its' battery life, the ability to use multiple local SIMs and acceptable build quality are winning points. However, it lacks in some areas, namely the software quality (both the mobile app and the software stack it runs on aren't that polished, expect bugs) and in cost effectiveness (the so-called "cloud-SIM" tech that grants you local network access is quite pricey).

At the moment, I'll keep an open mind and consider the Glocalme G3 as an experiment, and will replace it in the future should a better MiFi come along or major issues crop up with it. Still waiting for it to ship, then a proper review will be done.

What other MIFIs have you people used? What should a new user look out for when buying them, etc?
