I see many devices on amazon and newegg that provide a b/g/n wifi network (usually to attached external storage), but I need a device that has DHCP and can work as a traditional switch. The purpose of this is not to get 3g/4g coverage but to allow my phone to connect to my PC via wireless on a network I can trust (but I cannot use ad-hoc) and to allow my buddies and I to quickly set up a network for playing LAN games. It's a bit of an odd request, but I just need to know which of these consumer devices has these capabilities, as they are not often broadcasted in the features for this type of product.
So far, I've seen these as potential solutions but I'm not sure of their back-end capabilities:
Amazon.com: MOCREO 5-in-1 Portable WiFi 802.11b/g/n Wireless USB 3G Hotspot Router w/ 4000mAh Power Bank Backup Power for iPhone 5S, 5, 4, 4S; iPad mini, iPad Air, Moto X; Samsung Galaxy S4, S3, Note 2; Nokia Lumia 920; HTC One; Google Glass, Google
Amazon.com: ZyXEL 3-in-1 Wireless N Pocket Travel Router, Access Point, and Ethernet Client (MWR102): Computers & Accessories - This one doesn't have a built-in battery but seems to cater to my requirements moreso than the others.
TP-LINK TL-MR3040 Portable Battery Powered 3G/4G Wireless N Router IEEE 802.3/3u, IEEE 802.11b/g/n - Newegg.com
RJ45 connectivity and built-in battery are nice, but not 100% required.

Could you please elaborate on which features you need? From your post it isn't clear at all.. From your description I'd say you want a plain and simple wifi router, but then you come and tell about external storage and 3g..

I think he was pretty clear. What he seems to want is basically a pocket wireless router as he linked, for e.g. connection to cabled hotel networks.
The Zyxel is the closest fit, and also the TP-Link TL-WR710N (which might just be the Zyxel in a different enclosure, or vice versa) or the USB-powered TL-WR702N would appear to fit the bill as well (or indeed the power supply plug-in router that ships as a high-end pack-in / lower-end option with all Sony Ultrabooks - if you had a Sony Ultrabook with a Sony power supply, that is). -

Ok, it was indeed a router. The TP-Link TL-WR710N seems a good choice.

Switch with DHCP? Look at routers.
Also you need NAT (A Router Feature) if you want to have it connect directly to your internet connection.
You must already have one, maybe its not wireless so rather than add a wireless switch to your setup, perhaps just look at upgrading your router.
If you do not have DHCP on your network APIPA should kick in anyways, match your computers IP and subnet to the standard APIPA range and everybody will connect with your computer
I would recommend using WPA2 on your network to secure it. Depending on how often your friends come over you may even disable broadcasting the SSID and just set it up one time for them and save the connection to their device.
Needed: Portable WiFi Switch preferably with DHCP.
