I just got a new G9 from logitech to replace my other one (it wore out or something), but this new G9 doesn't work with my mousepad. Whenever I move it really fast it starts skipping around randomly. I'm at a loss as to why this one doesn't work, but the previous one did.
Here are some points to consider:
1) the old one worked fine on this mousepad
2) the new one works on other surfaces, it just doesn't like this mousepad
Is there anything I can do to fix this?

What kind of mousepad is it? Is it a cloth one?
-
yah, its a cloth one.
I fixed the problem though and it's really weird.. Once I closed TF2 and reopened it, the mouse was fine. I have NO idea how that works, but I guess it really doesn't matter either
You would think it would have been bad on my desk surface as well... Oh well. -
Ok.. Problem keeps coming back. It seems that it only happens in game though.
I'm completely stumped on this one, I have no idea what's going on. I just pulled out the old G9 that was replaced, and it has no tracking problems at all. Why would this new G9 have trouble only in game, only on the mousepad? It has no problems out of game or on my desk. I don't think there is anything wrong with the mouse itself, but I don't know what would be causing this to happen.
Anyone have ideas?
EDIT: I guess I should note that It works fine out of game on the mousepad when I move it really quickly there are no noticeable stutters. -

Perhaps there is a piece of dust or hair blocking the laser lens. Sometimes my mouse goes bonkers in CS:S when I don't clean the lens. One shot of compressed air should do the trick.

did u install the drivers on cd......u should probably look into buying a metal mouse pad like this one: http://www.stacksandstacks.com/hard-top-mousepad-large-surface/?id=176&sku=16929&utm_medium=shoppingengine&utm_source=googlebase or a different one.......maybe it doesnt respond to the cloth material all that well while gaming...
