Hello, I'm in the market for buying a new pair of gaming headsets.
I have looked at the g35s, but I have recieved mixed reviews about them. (saying the 7.1, actually is not that good, etc)

I have heard mixed reviews about the SteelSeries 5H v2 also.

Can some one recommend me one, that they are very good for gaming, I don't really care if they are average for music. I'm looking for a headset that I can "see"(sound wise) the other people before I even see them.

As you've probably read in the other thread ( http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=390191), headsets are not the BEST for gaming.

I'd suggest you look at regular headphones + a seperate mic. I have Sennheiser HD-555s and I couldn't be more happier with sound in gaming.

Really, I would recommend any sennheisers, headsets or regular headphones, that would fit your budget.

Also, the thing that will help you the most to 'see'/locate people through sound is a sound card, IMO. Your probably using a laptop (since these are laptop forums?), so I would take that into consideration before spending alot on a headset/headphones. Not really sure what kind of sound cards are available for laptops.

I think these will do very good since I also hear a lot of music. And have read many good things about them.
And I don't really care about the whole issue of: "don't wear them outside your closet you will look like a nerd in the 80's". I mean w/e that's only if you are insecure.

I love 'seeing' with my ears. Sennheisers are great quality.
