New Mouse for gaming and ordinary use. Most ordinary use but also gaming.
Anybody have a suggestions for what I should buy? I use Razer Mamba 2012 but this will now be retired. Is not particularly pleased with the Razer Mamba. Not going to buy this model again or something from Razer as these mouse models did not suit me... Is open for both wire and wireless mouse but not too many buttons. Do not know what my muse grip is called but my hand is mostly behind the mouse more like claw grip. Thumb buttons must be easy to reach hold of as my hand is far behind the mouse. Thought of something ala Mionix Castor or Logitech G700 etc.
Price has no impact only I like the mouse. I know it's hard to buy mice without trying but have not so many choices here at home to try some.
    Thanks

If you were looking at the g700 by logitec, the g602 is a quite nice place to start. Regarding wireless mice these days the specs and pricing of the g602 really makes everything else a bit "redundant". On the other hand, the g502 is quite possibly the best gaming mouse released so far sensorwise.

    Thanks.
Razer Mamba works but I do not like to use it. Does not fit my hand. The same applies to all razer mice I've tried afterwards. Wish several had give some advice on what might be an option for me. But Razer mouses does not come into my house anymore... Just as their thin BGA machines that are banned already :p.

Have added a poll. More suggestions on mice I should added into the poll? Vote also ;) No one is forced to vote, but...

G402 G502 G303, there are many comparisons to see the best of the 3 mice for you

or G602 if you want wireless mouse.

Logitech MX Master is impossible to play games with it
    M65 is a laser mouse

Shall test out Logitech G700s today or tomorrow. Can return it if I do not like it. It is sold with a 30 day open purchase. If I do not like this one either so maybe I will try G502 or Mionix Castor.

This is quite possible but I am more concerned about the mouse is good to use. My Razer Mamba have also high performance but I do not like to use it. Does not fit my hand. It is this which is the main problem. Not the actual performance.

I have the G602 for about a year, best mouse I ever owned. I also have the SteelSeries Wireless Gaming Mouse. It keeps disconnecting randomly upon every reboot so I have to disconnect the USB dongle/cable and reconnect it for it to work, piece of garbage.Tried many firmware updates. Never buy anything from SteelSeries, it should be called CrapSeries

for what it is and its price, the g602 by logitech really destroys almost all the competition. However, if all the "confirmed leaks" are to be believed, there is a logitech g900 wireless mouse that is going to come out very soon. That has the wireless quality (supposedly) of the g602, and the perfect sensor that is in the g303 and g502. If everyone is patient enough the new g900 seems to be the be all and end all of wireless mouse for the foreseeable future.

That's nice, I don't play the waiting game. I just get whatever is the best right now.

This G602 has never given me any troubles, 0 disconnections, 0 lag, battery lasts for a month (using Energizer Lithium Battery)

Just playing the devil advocate, I had my razer taipan for 3 years and its still works like the day I got it. The mouse itself so worned but still works perfectly! Its still my favorite gaming mouse and it fits my grip perfectly.

My Razer Deathadder lasted me about 5 years until the switch on the left click failed... I replaced the mouse switch from an old HP mouse that I had lying around, still working fine.

Purchased a Logitech G700s(70$). Some recommendations on the purchase of a better battery for the mouse? Not impressed by battery time. The mouse came with Panasonic BK - 3MCCW battery (minimum1900 mAh)

I got the G700s. It's a great mouse for gaming, but battery life is not as good as the G602 from what I've read. That Panasonic battery should be good enough and it should be an Eneloop . Lots of people recommend the Sanyo Eneloop XX, but Panasonic now owns Sanyo so the battery technology should be identical, although the XX models are around 2400mah. They are a bit expensive though.

I am now using Sony CycleEnergy 2400mah batteries. My G700s originally came with a Yuasa 2000mah battery. What I did was create a profile for general, non-gaming use. I set the profile to "Power Save" and the polling rate to the lowest available. My battery lasts several days on that setting with around 6-8 hours of daily use.

When gaming, I use another profile with a higher polling rate. Like this, my battery can last about a day. The G700s kind of reminds me of an Xbox controller. After a few hours of gaming, it needs a charge. It's an incredible gaming mouse though. Easily the best wireless gaming mouse I've ever owned.

I use still my old Surface 1030 fUnc Mouse Pads http://www.tweaktown.com/articles/440/surface_1030_func_pad_mousing_surface/index.html This is really old. Nice colors in the one I have. Orange edge and the rest blue. Have used other brand but I go always back to what I've used before. Maybe I should upgrade? To the same one? LOL

    Wireless Mouse
I agree with the multiple recommendations for a Logitech G602. It's got a great sensor, lots of features, very long battery life, and uses an optical sensor that comes from the family of "perfect" sensors from Avago / Pixart.

If you go with this mouse, I recommend you buy 2x AA Lithium batteries for that mouse (instead of AA Alkaline batteries). Lithium batteries are lighter and last longer. So you'll be able to use that mouse about 8 hours per day for 3 months on gaming-performance settings before they run out of juice. Additionally, it changes the mouse weight from a heavier rear-balanced mouse (alkaline) to a lighter center-balanced weight profile.

    Wired Mouse
Hard to go wrong here. Top dogs tend to be Logitech G502, or the Mionix Naos 7000 (not the 8000). Either one of those should suit you.

I currently own a G700s and I feel like it is the perfect combination of wired and wireless capacities. Although the wire for the G700s is quite stiff, once you put enough hours into softening up the wire, navigating the mouse should feel fine and easy to move around. Also, the battery life on the mouse is quite good considering it is a gaming mouse. I still get around 5-6 hours (I'm not sure about this, sometimes I leave it on overnight and it still functions in the morning). I usually use it wired anyways when gaming. It also has programmable keys and a full set of profiles (I'm pretty sure there is a better word for this) you can choose from which makes this mouse even better. It is also great with work as you can shift through set profiles, say from a gaming profile with hotkeys for set skills to work related hotkeys (copy, paste, back-to-windows, etc).

In addition, it has good spacing of the macro keys as some gaming mice can have a crowded bunch of macro keys on one side (like the Razer Naga).

Naos 7000 is best for big hands but lift off will be hard, Mine are small even Avior 7000 was a bit large but It was perfect, though the right side buttons were too intrusive had to replace that with Castor, As-usual Avago / Pixart sensor - Best optical sensors. Period

I had a terrible experience with the steelseries mouse i had i got it free and I canned in quickly. It was the sensei wired.

And furthermore Id get a wired mouse over a wireless every day.

I had a great experience with steelseries headset. both were stolen and I plan to buy a steelseries headset again

it was the extremely popular siberia v2. You didnt ask but I want to give it a 10. The mouse was terrible slow to recognize terrible response. It looked good, and it matched the headset. but it was maybe a 1 the only failure mouse ive ever had.

Are you sure you want another battery? I'd be happy to buy yours!

I've found that Panasonic BK - 3MCCW battery to last much longer than two other Eneloops I've used (BK-3HCCA4BA and BK-3MCCA8BA), and longer than Imedion batteries. Same G700s mouse, and I've been using all batteries for over a year. At work, I have the 3MCCW. I don't remember when I need to replace the battery... maybe once a week? And I use the mouse 6-8 hours a day.

At home, I use the same mouse, but with other batteries, and for shorter time. I have to replace or recharge those batteries about every day.

Now, does anyone know where to buy Panasonic BK - 3MCCW batteries?

I'm looking for new mice, as my Logitech G700 is on the wild roads  A bit over 1 year has passed and I need a new one. And I wouldnt buy the same again. I'm looking at the Logitech G502 Proteus Core or Mionix Castor (Mionix is about 30% cheaper than G502 Proteus Core). Is anyone outside @Ashtrix who has it or has tried Mionix Castor? Is it something to buy? Because the selection here home is limited and I do not want to spend a fortune on consumable products that does not last long enough to defend high prices(And I'm not a big gamer). Thanks

Those all look nice, but my mice have been reliable for years, so I'm not up on current models.

These are the newest I have:

    Ouroboros
    https://www.razerzone.com/gaming-mice/razer-ouroboros

I have a very old Mamba, that is still running great, not sure about the current model:
    https://www.razerzone.com/gaming-mice/razer-mamba

Same the for the DeathAdder, old and reliable, not so sure about current production:
    https://www.razerzone.com/gaming-mice/razer-deathadder-elite

Logitech was my go to before the old Razers, and I still have some of those that work too, wireless / rechargable / wired combo.

You might order a few of the ones you are most interested in, and decide side-by-side, that's how I do it :)

I have had 2 Razer. No more. Mamba and DeatAdder. Mamba I think it was (2012) Most expencive and the most short lived. I will never ever touch Razer anymore. My son Kill Razer within short time. But still buy the same(but this time he isn't sure). He is the gamer of us :) For me I want a alrounder as I'm not a gamer. I haven't very big hands. Maybe more normal.

Yeah, never more Razer for me.
I have tested two of the Corsair. I don't remember the model name on the first one. But I remember well I have tried Corsair Gaming M65 (RGB Black). And I have problem with liking this model(btw all Corsair is cheap home).

And, that's the problem I've had whenever I am ready for more mice, keyboards, etc - the manufacturers change up so often you can hardly count on making a long term recommendation any more.

All the Razers I have have been solid, bullet proof, same for the old Logitech's, but either they have been redone completely differently, or the quality has dropped, either way you need to start all over again every time.

More my Grip. I don't like a lot of buttons. Those with the thumbs is important to reach. As I hold longer back on the mouse.

Probably back to Logitech for that, they seem to put out better fingertip grip mice.

@Papusan , the Mionix Mice are good.

Avior 7000 - A good mouse but the bummer is the right side buttons (Ambidextrous, so left buttons for lefties) only issue is these buttons they always get in your way, the mouse is large and quite good grip.

Naos 7000 - is a better choice if your hands are big (but only right handed). But keep in mind the lift off use case would be hard with this mouse.

Castor - Best mouse with the best ergonomic design of all these 3 (Right handed only), it has the nice subtle contoured shape for your pinky finger and rubberized grip for thumb is also very good but needs a bit of time to get used, the weight is also fine better than Avior 7000 & fits for any type of grip with reachable and tactile good quality buttons, The mouse flies on soft mat very quick and precise.

Major *Plus* is the software - No Installation required just extract the zip (2.88mb) and click on the .exe that's it no fuss can deploy anywhere with you on any PC or LAN party or Event for configuring the profiles (Mionix gives on-board profile storage for Castor doesn't have color profiles but all the rest sensor of sensor configuration options - No gimmicks just pure performance and optimization options you'll get here like SQAT - A surface calibration tool and Lift Off distance calibration option). * Driver installation is only needed for Firmware upgrade*. Software never bothers with you at all with this Mionix Castor one time configure and done, That's the reason the Color profile gets Reset, here Reset means only the color on 2 RGB zones which ends up as one same color this is on software not that when you open the color tab mouse gets color reset - not the pulse, blink or breathe or other effects just one color shows up on both zones, Again this is not an issue at all but thought to point it out too for better understanding, I thought this as a problem earlier but with this advantage of software it's not at all an issue. 5 On-board profiles, can use the software to switch to any profile, with 3 Step DPI changer for that profile on the fly no software needed (Castor has 1 button for 3 step and need to cycle while Avior and Naos have 2 buttons to roll back and forth the 3 DPI/CPI steps).

The wheel on the Proteus core is very good and has option to switch the styles of scrolling, Mionix mice wheel are fine.

The switches are also very good & better than Razer - I had worst experience with these razer soft switches which die quickly (3 Deathadder's first and second versions). Finally the sensor - 3310 Avago on the Naos 7000 / Avior 7000 / Castor is a very good solid performer. The Proteus Core's sensor is a bit advanced being next revision. Need to use a soft mat with these 3310 mice. Also the reason I didn't get G502 is because of the sharp cuts that mouse has, It's not at all ergonomic and no soft rubber matte finish & Mionix mice look cool and clean with that Proteus core you cannot get a business look unlike the Castor (More cool) and Avior. Personal opinions but that matters to most imo.

Mionix Castor is a good option here, A rock solid choice, It's been over an year here

I've done my Due Dilligence earlier. As you say... No gimmicks just pure performance, Fit me. I'm not a big gamer, hate unnecessary software, do not like a bunch of buttons. One of the reasons I have long looked on Castor. + That this mouse has an ok price. I destroy or better word kill all my mice (none of them last very long). No point for me to pay a bunch of money for this tech. My most expensive mouse was the Razer ****y Mamba. Aka one of my worst investment. Never again!! I smell similar as RazerBOOK

I think the choice is between Mionic Castor and G502 Proteus Core. I'll just try both(Maybe I buy both). But as i said... No need for a hyper-advanced mouse for my use and as well at a terribly high price. For me... wasted money. Thanks. + rep

Really the only mice in that list good for average size hands + fingertip grip are G Pro, G100s, and G302. But G100s and G302 are old and have an inferior sensor. So I'd say G Pro, or G102/G203 or G303 if those are available to you.

^That's hilarious. The size, shape and feel of Castor is nothing like the DeathAdder.

Check out Rocket Jump Ninja's mouse reviews from an actual gamer, not some retard at PCWorld.
