For you I'd suggest the "cheap" mice, buy a few as backup, or to hand out to friends in need, like you said no sense wasting $$$ on fancy mice when you are gonna wear them out - and you don't need the fancy features![]()
Amazon top #1 selling mouse is only $9.99, and looks nice![]()

The Logitech 510 has worked good for me in the past, and is very cheap now, #3 on the top selling mice:

A friend of mine does this, keeps a stack of Inland "blister pack" wired or wireless mice - bought on "special sale" at Fry's when they have them, and they work just fine for gaming. I think he pays like $2-$5 per mouse over time depending on the sale.![]()

Update. I bought a new and the mouse is already in the house. Logitech G502 Proteus Spectrum(black). Not many options to an ok price.
I also bought a cheap mousepad. The mouse cost me $85 + the unknown brand mousepad $14. You can most likely buy it a lot cheaper in U.S and some others places but haven't the choice.
And I still have valid warranty on the screwed up G700 mouse. Although the mouse is well over 1 year old now. Aka Norwegian warranty
The reason spare parts and small electronics is more expensive here than some other places. We can at least get something back for the high prices

Suggestions for ok mousepad (gaming + Most allround)? Not too big and not too small. 300x250mm is about the right size. I still use my old Surface 1030 fUnc Mouse Pad. But it't very very old - ancient now
Perhaps there has been a change since then.
Already bought the Logitech G502 Proteus Spectrum(maybe a mouse pad who fit this mouse). It looks like I always return to Logitech mouse. Razer never again.
Bro @Ashtrix proposal was Puretrak Talent. But I do not think this is to get here at home.
Here are a few review pages Pcgamer.com - Rocket Jump Ninja - Toms's Guide.com (But what others like does not mean that this suits me - as always). ThanksLast edited: May 13, 2017 -
Steelseries QcK & QcK+ has been with me since 7 years, It's the best one for OL gaming or casual gaming or normal usage, Mouse also feels slick and fast and precise.

I've got a Corsair mousepad (came free with something else I bought). Works fine, but TBH that Logitech will work on anything, including a bare desk so get whatever looks the coolest.Papusan likes this. -
I bought Zowie P-SR ($29). Cheapest deal You can get in Norway. Pure black design. Hate flashy colors. And Some Pads has even flashy color lightning
Not for a older man like me
And I don't think I would even buy it when I was younger either. Thanks for all suggestions.

Didn't realize BenQ made anything but monitors (have one of their monitors, love it). That looks pretty nice.Papusan likes this. -
Zowie is by far the most popular mouse among pro FPS players.

I have paid way less attention to the competitive scene than I would like, and all the reviews/comparisons seem to stick to the 'usual suspects' of peripherals, Razer, Logitech, Corsair. What is it about them that makes for such a good showing among pros? -
Sponsorship, simple no-frills design (no gazillion buttons, drivers, excessive RGB lighting, removable weights, sniper button, etc.), top sensor, lightweight, excellent shapes comfortable for most people some based on legendary mice of yore that many pros are familiar with.

Makes sense. They do look pretty subdued and I like that.Papusan likes this. -

The fact that these mice need no drivers is another huge plus. I've tried Zowie mice but found them uncomfortable for long-term use. I also needed more fine tuning in terms of DPI than the fixed settings coded into the hardware.
I recently picked up a Corsair Scimitar and am really liking it. I've never so much as installed an MMORPG or MOBA, but the large quantity of extra side buttons comes in really handy for older PC games that have a lot of keyboard controls, like System Shock 2, Crysis, and especially the OG Deus Ex. The function row in the last game is for all your augmentations, and it's reasonably straightforward to bind the ones you use most often to the side buttons on the mouse. I even programmed a macro to take advantage of one of the infinite experience point glitches that happens near the end of the game (I don't consider it a cheat/hack if the game allows it within its own parameters). Corsair has really gotten its act together in terms of software from when I last used it. It's still not as intuitive as Razer Synapse or Logitech's offering, but it's much, much better than it was. -

I have a Sabre, don't know if it's the same on all of their mice but it looks like there's hardware and software dpi settings in the same mouse, which is interesting. Like when you boot but before CUE starts, you can cycle through dpi presets, and then after CUE launches those dpi settings take over. Or at least that's how it seemed to work on the last firmware. -
To each their own. Corsair mice aren't as popular because of their boxy shapes and weight.

As popular in what context? MLG? Couldn't care less about that.

Popular as in people using and recommending them.

I mean I recommend them, but I will admit my hands are pretty big and something that fits me might not be for everyone. -
Exactly. What's fit others hands, maybe not fit me. And as you or (other) said... Corsair is bigger and fits bigger hands.
Btw. Logitech G900 is coming. Got it for under half price
And I like the Logitech G502 Proteus(fits well in my hands). Hence I go also for the wireless model.
Edit. Already home

I know we're mostly function over form people, but that is a really sharp looking mouse.Papusan likes this. -
The issue with Corsair mice is shape more than anything (and secondarily the weight). Anatomically speaking, most people have hands twice as long as they are wide (fingers not spread). Corsair mice don't adhere to this 2:1 ratio, so they're not a safe shape. A "safe" shape is one which does not force the user to hold the mouse a certain way and works for multiple grip styles and/or hand sizes.

That seems correct for the M65 but the others I've used seemed pretty normally proportioned. -
Speaking of mouse, can someone recommend a good amphidextrous one?
-
saturnotaku Notebook Nobel Laureate
The word you're looking for is "ambidextrous." In any case, the Zowie FK or ZA series is good. If you want something you can customize with software, then either the Logitech G903 or Razer Lancehead. -

Fun fact, "amphi" is the greek version of old latin "ambi". Full of useless knowledge I am. -
Heyo! I was wondering if the Corsair Scimitar is comfortable enough for someone like me who has a 9 cm wide hand?
I'm currently eyeing it after doing some research seeing as I'm more of a MOBA/MMO type of guy (I'd really like to get the Razer Naga Hex V2, but every seems to hate Razer's build quality so might as well avoid it). I'd appreciate hearing some first-hand experiences from someone who has personally used the Scimitar.
