Hey everyone, I'm looking for a new keyboard since my $5 Logitech special is starting to get on my nerves after about 1 1/2 years. I want something quiet to type on and useful for gaming. I don't need anything fancy so I don't need to spend a ton.
Any suggestions?

Hell yeah! I currently use a Microsoft Digital Media Pro keyboard. Quite comfortable to type on, and it's pretty quiet as well. It's a nice compromise between a solid gaming keyboard and a productivity keyboard. The only thing missing is a high price tag; when I bought mine, they were going for $35.00 but they can now be had for just north of a Mr. Jackson.
Retail version:

Same keyboard, OEM version (for $13.50!!!)

If you would like to spend a little more there is also the Microsoft SideWinder X4 Keyboard $49.99

I hope so, I've been feeling a slight bit of buyers remorse...I've never paid $45 for a keyboard before but it seemed like such a good deal for $45 shipped when its usually $60+. -
Btw im also interested on your opinions, im waiting on the x4 just out of i want a more conventional keyboard, but the x6 is even cheaper atm, so idk i might change my mind. -

Yeah, I saw the x4 but it has not been released yet and it going to cost $49 so when I saw the x6 for $45 I jumped on it. I needed a keyboard now so waiting was not really an option.
I will tell you what I think when I get the keyboard on Wednesday next week, killer slow USPS free shipping FTW. =\ -

Update:
Well I got my X6 today, two days early from Amazon. Anyways, so far so good, it feels great and the keys are a bit quieter than my previous cheapo Logitech.
It will take me a few days to really get used to typing on it but its much better and easier than my previous keyboard. The only downside thus far is the lack of little risers on the back of the keyboard which means that it basically sits flat on my desktop. I would have liked to have had the back raised slightly. This is really only a minor thing for me, but I am sure I can get used to it. -
I'm waiting for the x4, hoping it has the same feeling as all the ms keyboards i have had over years. But the flat none raising is something that im still getting used to, currently with the logitech illuminated its the same deal, flat slim barely raises, at first i dislike it but the more and more i use it, the less i find it bad, more an inconvenience that its slowly disappearing, regardless, ill have to get used as the x4 will have the same low profile style. -
im looking for keyboard with low buttons but damn hard to find good one... best was from lidl but that is wireless and disconnect always when i go play... so what you recommend then ? i have tested roccat valo too but too much bad review going about it...

The Microsoft keyboards with low profiles keys are all decent. But most of them are curved ergonomic keyboards. I have a comfort curve 2000 myself, very good value for money.

I have this one, http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Dynex&#...686&skuId=8332397&st=Dynex keyboard&cp=1&lp=1
Works like a charm and I have been using it for almost a year with no problems. -

Yeah, I know there are better keyboards if you want to spend over $50, but that's just not something I am willing to do for a keyboard.
Gotta save up for my 5870!!! -
Bleh! Forgot about price haha. :/ Anyway, Had a look at the keyboard you got, looks nice!
-
im happy with 15 € keyboard and nostromo n52 and total price was just 45 €
