As most people know, the G1s is a rather large 15.4" laptop. And the backpack it comes with is just too small for me to fit all the stuff I will be carrying. These are the four backpacks that I have found so far that appear to fit the G1s and my personal needs, if anyone has any personal experience with these please post up. And if you could please post the dimensions of the laptop sleeve, the G1s is about 14"x11.25"x1.5".

The reason I am asking for dimensions is that according to what I have seen, the sleeve in the Surge is large enough, but others with the pack say a G1s will not fit in it. The four packs are listed in the order that I like them. Any other suggestions will also be appreciated. Price is not much of a concern, under $100 is preferred though.

Here is one you could consider It doesn't give the exact dimensions of the sleeve, but it's supposed to be a pretty large backpack.

I'm looking at the Ogio Politan. The dimensions are designed to fit a 17" notebook so it should fit a G1S. I like the way it looks, and it seems to have everything I want.

I just got a Dakine Duel for my 1520 with the 9-cell battery, which is a little larger than the G1s according to your measurements. Its a very nice backpack, though my laptop couldn't be any larger to fit in. The dimensions of my laptop are 14 1/8" x 11.5" x 1.5".

Thanks for the suggestions, I'll have to look at the backpacks you guys suggested.
Still looking for more opinions too. -
I just tried my G1S in my sister's North Face Optimus, and it fit. It wasn't a struggle to get it in, but I did have to use both hands to get it in (had to stretch the elastic to get it to slide in). It BARELY fit in the top, though... meaning the corners were somewhat poking at the upper edges of the bag.
I dunno, I'm going to Sports Authority (I can get employee discount) tomorrow, and see what has a reasonable sleeve in it.. hoping for a fit in the North Face Heckler. If it doesnt fit, I'll probably go try out an Oakley Flac Pack. My options are limited to retail, since I leave for Uni on thursday.

I would also second BuckeyeFan's suggestion of a OGIO, I was going to get a Metro or Metroid originally, but it just wasn't convenient for me to buy one.
As another suggestion just for sheer size sake, you might want to take a look at the Heys ePac, the 17" version should hold a G1S no problem, I would think even the 15" version would.
Just a couple more suggestions for you. -
How about the Samsonite Urbanite backpack? It costs $29 at buy.com, and looks good, imho.

Well, figured I'l post some pics... might help someone. For size reference, that is an Asus G1S, LG VX8600, Texas Instruments TI-83, Five-Star notebooks, and a slightly oversized hard-cover novel.
North Face Heckler, $79.99 from Sports Authority ($63.11 with employee discount).
What I could take pics with is pretty limited, as I've started packing for Uni. Gives a pretty good visual, though... sorry for the terrible quality of pics, the camera is on the way out it seems.
PICS! (click for 'full' size)
If for some reason someone wants full size (5mp) pictures, shoot me a PM, I'll load em up for ya [althouigh they look aweful, hah].
I like it a lot so far, it fits everything I think I'll need it to. Comfy, not too expensive. No real impressions thus far, just got it a few hours ago. -

It takes two hands to get it in, but that doesn't mean it is tight. THe top edge of the sleeve has elastic, so you have to pull it out a bit to get both sides in. It fits, basicly. It won't be sliding around from side to side, thats for sure, but it does fit.
The fifth picture shows it about as good as I can describe it. If anything it is the perfect size sleeve, the top elastic just makes it so it takes a second hand to put it in (and with $1800+, you should be using two hands anyways)
