I recently bought a samsung galaxy s2 and it came with a stock headbud. I have around 50 dollars lying around so I was thinking of buying a new one. Guys have any suggestions for me?

And if I buy a new earbuds for 50, will it be better than the stock?

I also found this at ebay. Price is kinda cheap. Fake perhaps?

i have klipsch image s4i's and they have some really good bass if thats what you're looking for. i think you can get them for about 60 or 70 bucks which is slightly above your price range.
get the image s4's not the s4i's. the only difference between them is that s4i's have the buttons and stuff on the wire which is mainly only usuable on iphones, ipods, etc

    1) Yes, $50 will get you nice headphones that will give you a nice boost over the stock earbuds.

2). Do not buy anything from Skullcandy if you care about audio quality. Skullcandy sells products based on flashy appearance. Their actual audio is actually pretty poor. Way over-emphasized bass, and a verry muddy and bloated sound signature.

    3) the headphones to get at $50 are a pair of Klipsch Image S4 (not the S4i) headphones. They sell for about $50 used, and give you the most bang-for-your-buck at $50 hands down. Absolutely unbeatable audio quality and clarity at that price point.

I just picked up a pair of Skullcandy Titans about 2 months back, and I am pretty impressed with the quality. The audio is very clear, no distortion, and there is not too much bass. They are very highly rated over at amazon.com also.

Note that I am not an audiophile by any means, but I have owned about 8 different brands of ear buds (all <$50) over the past 3 years. I am extremely rough on my buds and only usually get about 2-3 months before they start acting up. I have a good feeling about these Skullcandy Titans though, the build on these things with the metal housing is a lot better than the other brands I've tried.

Also, skullcandy's warranty is outstanding. I have some cheap skullcandy backup buds that stopped working correctly, so I RMA'd them through Skullcandy. Skullcandy sent me a gift card worth the value of my buds including the cost of shipping so I could re-order a new pair through their web site :D .

The fakes here can be had for about $5-6. You would never know unless you compared it side by side to the real ones and knew which was which. Also the audio quality of the fakes are very variable, so you have to try before you buy. Besides, why buy a knockoff of crappy earbuds? I would stay far away from them!

Also don't hesitate to spend some time over at Head-Fi.org - Headphone forums and reviews for audiophiles . They have reviews at several price ranges. I use the Klipsch S4i's and enjoy them very much. No they are not better then my Senheiser can's but on a flight they work well and I have no complaints.
