Before I potentially fry a notebook, I figured I'd better get some advice first.

I am awaiting a Kohjinsha SA5 subnotebook/tablet coming from Japan. It comes with an AC adapter. Rather than purchase additional adapters at $100 a throw, I'm considering universal adapters for my office and vehicle (to avoid having to carry an AC adapter actually with the unit).

What do I have to be concerned about in order to avoid damaging either the unit or the battery?

There's a lot of cheap universal adapters on eBay, but I've read that some of them are dangerous as there are no regulation/safety features.

I've been considering the Kensington 33197 and 33069 home/auto kits.

As far as the power draw of the SA5 (same as SA1, SH6, and SH8 models), finding specs online is a bit tough, since everything is in Japanese.

From what I've been able to glean, the standard battery is 11.1v 2600 mAH.

    Consumption: 60w.

    Specs: http://www.kohjinsha.com/models/sa/sa5sx04/specification.html

(I used http://babelfish.altavista.com/ to translate, but it's still Engrish...)

    Thanks in advance!
