Sorry for my complete and utter lack of knowledge on this subject, but I've tried looking it up, and the information I find is just going over my head. When I was purchasing me laptop, one of the optional extras was a USB TV tuner. I didn't really have the money to go adding luxury extras, but it's something that's stuck in my head as an option for the future.

How do these things work exactly? I buy this little box and connect it to my laptop, right? But do I need to then connect up a TV aeriel to anything? Or will this little box pick up TV signals wirelessly? And where would it be getting them from? I have cable on one TV set here, but the rest are just regular channels.

    ANY help is appreciated :)

It's a device that plugs in via USB. It has a cable input, there is no built-in antenna. There are usually other inputs too, but that will vary on model.
