Are these safe, durable, and reliable for notebooks? Does anyone have an favorite sellers for these batteries?
Thanks![]()

I got a knockoff 9-cell battery for my old Studio 1535 from a Chinese seller on eBay. It worked, never gave me any trouble. Maybe it wasn't quite as good as an OEM battery (this one had 81WHr instead of the "official" 85), but I paid less than half of what Dell would have charged.

I think non-OEM batteries are fine, as long as you purchase them from credible resellers. Check reviews of others who bought first. Then once you receive it, check the battery's stats using BatteryBar, SIW, or a similar program.
Mastershroom is right in saying that non-OEM batteries may have lesser designed capacities than OEM batteries.
Personally though, I'd still go for OEM batteries. You can check out AtBatt for discounted, trustworthy OEM batteries.
I'm planning to possibly purchase a 9-cell for my Dell XPS M1530 soon, and the price difference is very significant. I would save about $50-$60 from purchasing at AtBatt rather than the official Dell online store. -
Non-oem batteries are cheaper but usually dont offer the same quality as the oem batteries.
Non-OEM Battery - safe?
