    Hey people,
I'm looking for a cheap mouse <£12 and was wondering is the size difference between a normal mouse and notebook mouse generally quite large?
Also, for normal home use and some gaming, should I bother investing in a laser mouse?
Btw, I currently use a ball mouse on my old desktop - is an optical mouse a LOT better than a ball mouse, e.g. responsiveness etc.
    Thanks, jam.

Notebook mice are about half the size of your standard old-school Microsoft Intellimouse.

As for ball vs. optical, there's no comparison. Once you realize you never have to clean mouse funk out of the rollers again, there's no going back.

I would say, though, that a LASER mouse isn't worth it. Optical is more than good enough.

laser = no red light at the bottom of your mouse & tracks better on more surfaces..

No noticeable increase in performance as far as I can tell though..

Ball vs optical.. haven't used those in so long.. can't really compare.. but optical is definitely worth getting over a ball mouse..

Some people prefer crt over lcd..
some people prefer mechanical keyboards over membrane switches..
some people prefer optical over laser
    Some prefer wood over metal.
    oldschool SNES over ps3

ball vs optical is just not one of those things that people miss...
